Step Templates

Step Templates are the building blocks of ID Dataweb Workflows. Each Step represents a single verification challenge — a discrete moment in a user's verification journey where one or more Checkers run and a Policy evaluates the results to produce a decision: approve, deny, or obligation (step-up to the next Step).

Steps can be combined in sequence to create multi-factor or multi-layer verification Workflows. For example, a Workflow might start with a low-friction PII Validation Step, then escalate to a Government ID and Selfie Match Step only for users who fail or are flagged as higher risk. This layered approach balances security with user experience, applying friction proportionate to risk.
